The Teema (original Kilta) tableware series was first introduced by The Finnish tableware brand Arabia in 1952. The Harness Factory, located in Helsinki’s Arabia district, had previously advertised The design for a folk tableware. Kaj Franck got The award with his minimalist design concept. in its design, it was limited to The basic shapes circle, rectangle, square, cylinder and cone. Therefore, The series has been adapted to The taste of time and has been offered since 1977 under The name Teema.
In 2005 The next big cut was made - The then company mother Hackman, decided to use only one brand name of The brand portfolio for worldwide marketing. due to The popularity of The Aalto vase, The Iittala brand was chosen for this purpose and The Teema series has been part of The collection of The former glass brand and today's design brand Iittala. The series has also been updated to The new appearance of The Iittala brand as a design brand. this was carried out by The well-known Finnish designer Heikki Orvola, who has designed The Kivi tealight holder for Iittala, among other things.
