When daylight is required, the HMI F400 focusable, weatherproof (IP 54), multi- purpose lamp is eminently suitable for shooting stills and videos, whether in the studio or outdoors. The light output is comparable to a 1200 to 1400 W halogen lamp, but it needs only a quarter of the power. Thanks to the large accessory range, light shaping leaves nothing to be desired. The light can be mixed with flash or natural daylight. The lamp can be fitted with an Open Face, PAR or one of a large variety of Softboxes. The Fresnel lens for the PAR reflector converts the lamp into a fully-fledged Fresnel lamp. The optional, foldable Litepipe (light tube) is ideal on location when space is limited.

What if you don't have any broncolor light shapers?
In this case, the Starter Kit is the perfect basic equipment if you are often on the move shooting videos or taking pictures. It consists of a focusable HMI lamphead, an Open Face reflector, a 4-leaf barn door, diffusion and conversion filters, an adapter for nearly all light shapers from broncolor and a Softbox. The open face reflector is structured reflector with uniform, rotationally symmetric illumination, direct mounting of conversion and diffusion filters, a screen ring or 4-leaf barn door. The HMI F400 lamphead equipped with the Open Face reflector features ingress protection to IP 54.

The HMI 400.575.800 ballast unit is equipped with an automatic voltage detection circuit rated for 90 V to 265 V 50/60 Hz; it is protected against water splashes (IP 43) and flickerfree. Even at very high ambient temperatures, the patented temperature control system ensures safe and reliable operation.
