Channeling the exacting production protocol of the original 1970s Superstar, the 50th Limited Superstar Reissue boasts thicker 6-ply, 9mm birch construction throughout its 4-piece shell configuration, spanning 8- x 10-inch (modernized) and 10- x 12-inch rack toms, a 16- x 16-inch floor tom, and a 14- x 22-inch bass drum. Anchoring down its heads is a collection of triple-flanged hoops, delivering effortless tuning and a stunningly accurate playing response to the Superstar of the 1970s. You’ve also got a few more contemporary elements on your side, including a super stable MTH800 double tom holder and modern bass drum spurs. With such an outfit, you’ll feel comfortable anywhere and everywhere the music takes you.

Take an even closer look at the 50th Limited Superstar Reissue and you’ll note a plentiful collection of pieces to the period-correct puzzle. Within each shell, TAMA replicated the matching internal shell finishing that came standard on the very first Superstars. Its Superstar lugs, tom brackets, and groovy badges are entirely true to the original model as well for an excellent blend of style and functionality. TAMA even went so far as to apply Remo Coated Ambassador drumheads to the batter and resonant sides of each shell to match the inaugural release. Finally, TAMA’s giving drummers a choice between four first-year Superstar finishes ? no one could build a more accurate replica if they tried!
